Why I Started Building in Public

I used to keep all my projects private until they were "done." The problem is they were never done.

The shift

At some point I decided to start sharing work in progress. Not because I was confident in it — precisely because I wasn't.

What changed

Building in public forces clarity. When you know someone might read it, you explain your thinking more carefully. You spot holes in your reasoning.

It also creates accountability without pressure. Nobody's waiting for you to ship, but having the updates out there gives you momentum.

What I'd tell past me

Start smaller than you think you need to. One paragraph is fine. A rough idea is fine. The habit matters more than any individual post.
